Leonardtown Band Members participate in Frostburg State University Honor Band Festival Concert

Five members of the Leonardtown band participated in the Honor Band Festival Concert held at Frostburg State University March 3-5, 2017.  The five were: Natalie Voithofer, Melissa Trick, Isabelle Vallejo, Cheyenne Hegedus, and Paige Marino.

The group arrived in Frostburg on Friday March 3rd for placement auditions.  It was a very snowy drive out to dinner and a return to the University to hear the Frostburg Wind Ensemble perform.  Saturday was an all day rehearsal with the faculty at Frostburg performing a Jazz ensemble after dinner.  Sunday was more rehearsal with a performance at 3.  Students from twelve high schools blended together to perform five musical selections.  It was amazing how well they performed in such a short time of working together.  All seemed to enjoy the entire weekend!  Congratulations to the participants and special thanks to Leonardtown High School Band Director Mr. Hunter Martin for arranging this opportunity with his alma mater.
